2011: The Year in Review

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! I did...it just went by way too fast!! I wanted to post this over the weekend, but I had lots going on. I'm shaving down that to-do list though...Another story for another day...but before moving well into 2012 with new projects, I wanted to take a look back at some of my personal favorites from the last year. Many bloggers have done this in the last few weeks, so I thought it would be fun to create my own. So sit back, relax, and take a look back with me! (Don't I sound like one of those gentlemen who sits by the fireplace in a silk robe smoking a pipe introducing the movie of the week? I'm just sayin, lol)

My Favorite Projects in 2011

  • My Star Album, posted here back in January! My friend was just floored when I gave it to her while she was in town a few months later! It really is easier to make than it looks! That reminds me, now I've gotta print some of these pics for my own Chicago album!
  • The Disney themed Accordion Book, posted a few weeks later for a Pay It Forward Challenge.

I had plans to post a tutorial, but I wanted to wait until I got a video camera. It didn't pan out this year, but I got a couple gift cards for Christmas, so keep your fingers cross for me that this becomes a reality, okay? I haven't forgot you, Susan (waving)! And I want to do this challenge again this year.

  • Another favorite, or should I say two, in 2011 were these diaper cakes:

This diaper cake was posted here
More about this Pooh cake here
There were four diaper cakes posted here this year, but these two were the most fun to create. The zebra print one really allowed me to really work outside of my norm with color! And I think out of all the Pooh themed cakes I've made, this was my overall favorite! I do hope I get to make more this year!
  • During 2011, Scraps of Color had a Blog Hop for Breast Cancer Awareness. What a wonderful opportunity to create projects honoring and remembering loved ones fighting the battle against Breast Cancer. It was really fun to take part with the other crafters. I made this card as one of the projects:

If you'd like to read more about the event and the card, check it out here. In fact, while you're there, you can check out all of the blogs that participated in the hop.

Now I won't post pics of my last two favorites because they were just posted back in November. However, you can see pics of my first criss-cross card and a vintage Christmas mini album here and here. I really loved these two projects simply because I learned so much doing these two projects! I plan on trying a few more criss-cross cards with different themes in 2012, so be sure to come back soon to check on me! As for minis, there will be one on the way in a couple of weeks, but I can't talk about it too much other than it is for another swap! I can't give it ALL away, folks, lol

Well...That's All She Wrote (pun intended) for 2011...I'm excited about creating new stuff and learning even more in 2012! Did you have a favorite here? I only ask to see what you enjoyed seeing here on the blog in last year, so I can determine what to bring more of here in 2012! Is there something I haven't done yet that you'd like to see? Post that in the comments too...be honest, but gentle, lol. You all inspire and challenge me to be more creative as you stop by with such encouraging things to say, so your opinion counts with me! Well, signing off now! Thank you for visiting last year and I hope you'll continue to visit in 2012!
...And That's All She Wrote!
