Blogger RAK and Right Now...

I'm back because I wanted to drop in and share some crafty goodness I received recently! And y'all know how I love happy mail! (Evidence here) This cute little album was from my bubbly blogger buddy Tanya. I love visiting her blog to catch up on her adventures with her hubby, their three dogs (complete with occasional  costumes), and her obsession ahem, facination with all things Doodlebug! She sent this as a "thank you"  for commenting on her blog...she's a sweetie! Here's a few more pics from the album:

This cute album has cool tags for journaling, plenty of spots for pics, even some interactive elements!
In addition to all kinds of crafty projects, Tanya also does a cool feature called "Right Now Wednesday." I thought this would be fun, as I haven't done a random post in awhile! So Tanya, this is for you, lol

Right Now, I'm...

*Listening--to hubby playing his video game
*Eating--nothing
*Drinking--sipping on a little water
* Wearing--relaxing in a big Tee
*Weather--snuggle alert!! 41 degrees outside
*Wanting--a few more hours in the day (okay, I borrowed that one, but its true!)
*Needing--to go to sleep, its 11:45!
*Thinking--about what to wear to my class reunion this weekend
*Enjoying--reading Perfect Peace by Daniel Black as a SOC book club selection

Thanks again Tanya for the happy mail, and the inspiration!
Stop by her blog Creative Endeavors to say hi!
Thanks for stopping by here today too! Come back soon!

Happy Mail and a "10 Day You Challenge"

Hello readers! I needed to take a mini break tonight from crafting, since we had a special service at church tonight. But I wanted to tell you...I GOT SOME HAPPY MAIL!! I GOT PACKAGES!! You know from this post how I love my happy mail! Here's a peek at my goodies:

First up is the Pooh Font cartridge! I purchased this on the For Sale or Trade forum over on 2Peas. I'm excited because I can use this cart on my Pooh Diaper Cakes. As I mentioned here, Pooh bear is my most popular theme for the cakes, and it will definitely come in handy! If you're looking for a cool place to purchase hard to find or discounted craft goodies or even sell gently used items from your scrap stash, check out the FSOT...now for my other package, I'm giving only a tiny glimpse:

I'm wrong for that right? Well, you'll see it soon enough...I'm using it for a couple of future projects...so for now, that's all I'll say about that (in my best Forrest Gump voice.)

In this post, I also wanted to share the start of my 10 day YOU challenge! A few weeks ago Adrienne posted this over on her blog, and I wanted to give it a try! During this month, as part of my 31 days, 31 posts challenge, I will also be sharing a little more about myself!

Thanks for stopping by! Come back to see me real soon, okay?

A RAK and 31 days, 31 posts

Hi folks! I wanted to stop in and share a RAK my SOC sistah Patricia sent me recently--my first one ever!! See Patricia posted a really cool card over at SOC with a Loralie stamp image. I thought her card would be a perfect idea for a card for my mother-in-law. She's a seamstress, and would get a real kick out of something like that. A few days later, Patricia was nice enough to send a package with all of this stuff:

Thank you SO much Patricia!! So I guess you know what that means...Somebody (hmm...I wonder who) will be trying copics soon! Wish me luck!

Dear blog readers, now I know I have been away way too long! I really didn't mean to do that. To be honest with you, I felt like I was at a crossroads with my posts. I read a lot of posts on message boards about the whole crafty vs. non-crafty blog content issue. When I started this blog, my goal was to post mostly scrapbook related stuff and I felt like I got away from that. Don't get me wrong, I love sharing bits and pieces of my thoughts. However, I was concerned that you all wanted more crafty stuff and I wasn't posting enough of that. So I stop posting and visiting blogs all together...Now I am ready to try again. We are all different, so every blog is gonna be different. I can only be me, not a poor copy of someone else. So to get myself back on track, I am attempting to add 31 posts in 31 days~some crafty, some just being "me." Kind of like Marion Smith's 31 day challenge without the videos (I'm working on getting a video camera, so maybe that'll come later). I hope you'll come back to check on me and see what I'm up to! (And if I go more than two days, I'm giving you permission right now to contact a chick, lol). Well, I'm posting this now, while its still Monday...until next time!

Happy Mail, Happy Mail...

If its one "little" thing I love in my day, its "happy mail!" I remember racing my brother to the mailbox everyday after school or during summers growing up, just hoping to receive a letter, postcard or anything! Even if neither one of us received anything, bragging rights just on who got there first was enough for the moment, lol. As we got older, my brother lost interest, leaving the mail retrieval duties pleasure to me. Of course, the older ya get, the mail changes...there are more bills and junk mail than letters, cards, and mags! Every once in awhile though, I still get "surprises!"

This past week, one of those "surprises" came in the form of my cards from the SOC Monthly card swap! This month, the theme was Graduation, one of my favorite occasions to create craft projects for. So I wanted to share the participants' creations with you!

Top two: Creators unknown, Bottom Center: Nicole

Left card: Created by RJ, Right card: Made by Danielle

Left card: Yolanda H., Right Card: Thejuana

Top left: Created by Mari, Top Right: Made by Ivy,
Bottom Ctr: Nicole A

Now just in case you're looking for my card, it's not posted here. We had 20 participants, so it was possible that we wouldn't get one of our own cards back. However, I have one around here somewhere, and will post it around graduation time...So that's some of my fun mail for the week! What slice of goodness (a favorite mag, a letter from a crafty pen pal or a family member, or ANYTHING other than bills) do you receive in your mailbox that makes it a "happy mail" day for you?

Here's to lots of fun mail for you today! Thanks for stopping by...And That's All She Wrote!
