BCA Blog Hop, Day 2: A Little Slim Shady and a Giveaway!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! So in honor of this event--I, along with some talented crafters, have teamed up to honor and celebrate the men and women in our lives that inspire us with their strength in the battle against Breast Cancer. Of course, a blog hop isn't complete without blog candy! There will be giveaways on various blogs throughout the hop! Plus, there will be an SOC blog hop gift awaiting one visitor!! To be eligible for that prize, you must comment on all the blogs by Monday, Oct. 10 at 11:00pm EST. From all who are eligible, one lucky reader will be randomly drawn. The winner will be posted on all the participating blogs next Friday, Oct 14.

By chance that you found this blog, I'm the last blogger on the list! However, you can start here with our crafty gentleman, RJ, and work your way down the list! Now if you just dropped by from Nedine's blog, you're in the right place! It's day 2 on the hop, so lets get going with a little Slim Shady!! (And no, you don't have to adjust your volume anticipating or fearing that Eminem is going to blast out the speakers!) I have a "slim shady" of a card to share with you!

Patterned paper and sticker: Me &My Big Ideas,
Ribbon: Michaels, Spellbinder Circle die

The dimensions of this card is a size 10 (the measurements are 3 7/8 x 9 1/4, and can fit into a business sized envelope). I simply measured the patterned paper to fit, then used my Spellbinders circle die and Cuttlebug (still loving my bug!!) to cut the window--first into the cardstock, then into the patterned paper--then adhered the patterned paper. For the awareness ribbon, I simply used a sticker from the set. I used baby powder on the back of the sticker to "remove" the adhesive, then popped the ribbon with a pop dot.

Normally, I use mini black pop dots, but you can easily use a regular pop dot, cut it to size and color it with a Sharpie or black marker on the sides to tone down the color, like I did here. If you prefer writing your sentiment on white background, you can add a piece or jazz it up with a silver or white-inked pen. And there you have it--a unique, but fun and easy card for a survivor or someone you know who is fighting the disease.

So here is where the giveaway comes in...(BCA: blog candy alert).

One reader will win a Mambi Sheets paper pack and Awareness ribbon sticker sheet, like the ones used in the cards I've made over the last two days. All you have to do is leave a comment below! (Only the comments for this post will be eligible for this giveaway)

And speaking of giveaways, I forgot to post a picture of the blog hop gift here! The rules for that contest is located at the very top of this post, so be sure to check that out too! Here's a pic:

So that's all I have for today, but that's not the end of all the fun! The blog hop will continue until Monday at 11pm EST. So come back to visit the blogs, check out more projects, and possibly more blog candy! Thanks for stopping by...and That's All She Wrote!
