Mimi for Breast Cancer Awareness

Dies: Spellbinders, Sizzix, Stamps: Hero Arts, Stampendous
Copic Markers. Card size: 5" square

Hi everyone! It's been a little while since my last post...my grandmother had an unexpected health challenge present itself and had to be admitted into the hospital last week. However, I'm thanking God that she got to come home about a week ago and is slowly on the mend. I've been doing what I could to stop by daily to check on her at the hospital and her house playing part-time nurse, and between working full-time and taking care of things here at home it hasn't been easy! Just grateful for the strength, lol.

Anywho, the crafters over at SOC are observing this month with a series of challenges and contests, one of which is to send cards and gifts to survivors and sister members who are fighting this disease. So I pulled out some of the paper and stickers I used in last year's cards (posted here and here), along with my girl Mimi (that's my nickname for her) from my girly card swap earlier this year, to send a message of support. "Hang in there" is a stamp, and the rest of the sentiment was computer generated with a similar font. Once I colored my image and added the paper-pieced dress, the rest of the card came together quickly! I plan to send it to a friend who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer recently.

I hope this card will inspire you to make a card for a sister in need...there are way too many women and men receiving this diagnosis, and families being impacted by this disease. I believe one day there will be a cure! Until then let us all take Mimi's advice and do what we can to support them! Be sure to come back to visit soon because...looking over my shoulder, leaning in, and whispering...I will have a BCA related giveaway this week!! So stop by Thursday or Friday okay? In the meantime, take care,...
