Hearts and Roses: A Few of My Favorite Things

Happy Valentine's Day and welcome to the Scraps of Color Hearts and Roses Blog Hop! I, along with some talented crafters, have teamed up to share Valentines and love-themed projects! of course, Valentine's Day is all about sharing the love, and this hop is no exception! There will be giveaways on various blogs throughout the hop!

If you're coming from Susan's blog, you're in the right place! However, if you're starting here, you may want to go to Cassie's blog to view everyone's projects from start to finish! But I'm glad you stopped by, so lets get started with this easel card!

Dies: Spellbinders, Sizzix, Stamps: Hero Arts, Verve
Heart bling: Darice, Flourish: Pebbles

The image on the card is my girl Mimi...if you have visited before, you know that she's not a stranger to some of my crafty card adventures! (You can also see her here and here.) I had planned to use a cute digital image for this card, but I realized after we got snowed in that I didn't have ink for my printer! I tell ya, the best laid plans...so Mimi agreed to stand in at the last moment, lol. Her signature red dress was a paper piecing fitted over the original image.
The inspiration behind this card was in celebration of February which is also Women's Heart Health Month. In fact, every February 7th ladies are encouraged to wear red to bring attention to heart disease, which is the number one killer in women. You can read more about National Red Day here. So whether you're celebrating with that someone special or with family, I hope you will take time out to celebrate and treat yourself! More importantly, take care of yourself so you can be the best you can be for those closest to your heart!

Before I go, I got some candy...no, not chocolates, although that does sound good right now. I have some blog candy!!  I normally have a nice picture of my goodies, but with the storm coming I didn't have a chance to run out and get anything. But I still want to share the love...so one lucky reader will win a $15 gift certificate to Want2Scrap.

You'll find nice bling there, without that trip to the jewelry store! All you have to do is leave a comment below. The winner will be announced here on Monday, February 17! So be sure to stop by then to see if you've won! Ready to see more creations? Check out the creations on Debra's blog to continue the fun! In fact, here's a list of all of the participating blogs:

Happy Valentines Day!...And That's All She Wrote!
