Hi blog readers! Hope you've had a great weekend! It's a trip how fast they go by, isn't it? I just finished watching Super Bowl XLV. The commercials were cool, and I thought half time was really good. However, it amazes me how much I really get into the game every year now. It wasn't a big deal in our family growing up, and my dad is one of the few men I know that doesn't follow football that much. We didn't do the Super Bowl party this year, opting instead for a quiet night in front of the tube. How did you watch the Super Bowl? At a big party or at home? What's your favorite part of Super Bowl Sunday: the commercials, half time, or the game itself?
Switching gears, I thought it would be kinda cool to challenge myself to create a couple of cards using color inspiration from the teams participating in the Super Bowl. I think you can get crafting ideas from just about anything, and one of my goals for this blog is to create more on a daily basis, not waiting for that "reason" to create. I'm trying to push the envelope and use different colors too. So here's a look at my cards:
The sentiments in both of the cards are from Technique Tuesday. Although my team didn't win the Super Bowl, I really like the results of my card challenge! I'll be trying this again soon! Hmm...basketball is in high gear right now...Hope it inspires you to think "outside the box" on those color combos too!

This one is my Packers-inspired card. The image is a stamp from Inkadinkado. Hard to see in this pic, but the image is touched with Stickles. |
My "Steelers" card. Finished size: 5" square. |

ReplyDeleteHey, hey that's my team, Lorie! But the Packers played a really great game, and if the Steelers HAD to lose, I'm glad it was to a cool team like Green Bay! Thanks for stopping by ladies!
